This Privacy Policy explains how Resurfy (“Resurfy”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Resurfy mobile app and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we receive your email address, or — if you use Sign in with Apple or Google — a unique identifier and, where you allow it, your email. We use this to authenticate you and operate your account.
• Content you save. When you save a link or share content to Resurfy, we process the link you provide and generate AI summaries, titles, and structured notes from it. We store these AI‑derived notes and a representative thumbnail so you can find and revisit what you saved.
• Usage & device data. Basic operational data such as the number of items you save and questions you ask, app version, device model, and language, used to run and improve the Service and enforce plan limits.
• Subscription data. If you purchase a subscription, we and our provider (RevenueCat) receive the purchase status and identifiers needed to grant and manage your access. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your card details.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account.
• To generate AI summaries and let you search and ask questions across the content you saved.
• To process subscriptions, entitlements, and free‑trial eligibility.
• To communicate with you about the Service (e.g., support responses, important notices).
• To detect, prevent, and address abuse, security issues, and violations of our Terms.

How your content is processed by AI

To create summaries and answer your questions, the content you save is processed by our AI provider, Google (Gemini API). This processing is used to deliver the Service’s features. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it for advertising.

Sharing & third parties

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

• Apple — authentication (Sign in with Apple) and payment/subscription processing.
• RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management.
• Google (Gemini API) — AI processing of the content you save.
• Hosting/storage — our servers and object storage are operated in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany).

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Data retention

We keep your account and saved content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account and associated saved content and media; limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

Your choices & rights

• Access & deletion. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete account). You may also contact us to exercise your rights.
• Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Security

We use industry‑standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure credential storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

International transfers

Our infrastructure is located in the European Union. If you access the Service from outside the EU, your information may be processed in the EU and by the providers listed above.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
